Thanks for raising this issue, Karl. We are on 491 visa which we got out of compulsion since the immigration was closed due to covid. I had to accept it since my 485 was finishing in 3 days time when I received the invite. I had applied 491 with 105 points, and its frustrating to wait for long even after 3 yrs. It showed 4 months of processing time when I applied in april 2024. Now its already 7 months and the processing time keeps increasing. Hoping for a push on the mainstream soon. good luck, and thanks again!

There should be a petition that people who have already completed 3 yrs on 491 should automatically be converted to 191

Insensitive DHA. The 191 processing time is ridiculously long. After 3yrs wait and upto another 1yr for PR grant. This is a use and dump government. Thanks for the good job Karl. Please help us to pressure them till they listen.

Hi Karl, many thanks for another informative movie. I wonder if you or anyone here might know if we all have to come to Australia to open our 491 visa which was granted for all 4 members of our family based on my husband's skills and education? Buyer of our house just pulled out and we might not be able to sell the house by the 9th of Jan 2025 to move permanently to Au. We might need to just open the visa and come back to the UK to sell the house only because if we sell it while being already in the UK we will be changed CP tax by the Australian taxation office. Any advise on that would be highly appreciated. Many thanks! We will get there one day!

DHA will delay any visa grant that the visa applicants do not protest.

Visa 191 should be automatically granted to those who are on 491 visas and have lived in a designated regional area for 3 years. Otherwise, this Australian government and its DHA are pure greedy and evil. 😩😩😩

Hi Karl. GDay. The MATES VISA 403 arrounced with much fanfare, is currently under a shroud. The date of 1st November is gone and its now left to a more open ended statement "late 2024". Could you provide any insights on when the applications open. Thanks

I arrived in Australia in February 2023 on a Student (Subclass 500) visa. At the time, there was no news or indication that an age limit would be imposed. Now, at 36 years old, if I had known about the age limit, I wouldn't have spent my hard-earned money to come here. I hope there will be a change for those who arrived before the law was implemented.
