For those who do not know him, he is Yuzuru Hanyu. He is 25-years old but holds 19 world records, is 2-times Olympic Gold Medalist (the first man since 1952), the first male skater to achieve super slam (winning every major skating competition in both junior and senior categories), 2-times World champion, 4-times Grand Prix Final champion, first man to land 4 loop in international competition and more.

However, he was born with asthma but loves skating since he started skating at the age of 4 ; is a survivor of Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 when he was 16 years old and had to run for his life while training in ice rink, when his house was entirely destroyed and had to live in evacuation center and shared limited amount of food with others in the center ; suffered numerous injuries but never use his asthma or injury as an excuse; has donated around $4M from 2011 until now for the reconstruction of his hometown Sendai.

Despite all of his achievements and hardships, he is still this humble, hardworking and cute cinnamon roll that we see here 😊

This is so sad actually. Yuzuru Hanyu really deserves to be listed among the greats of the sports world. It's long overdue. He is a genius on the ice, an inspirational person and draws in the big crowds wherever he goes.
