Although I'm at a little higher than noob-level now, I watched the whole video :) I think it's really good if you're new to magnet-spheres, it explains the essential basics that are needed to feel familiar and to grow with magnet creations.

you have inspired me to get some of these, I also have seen a couple entries of yours in the Zen magnet competition things. Great work! Keep it up!

You've made the right choice. Neocubes are much cheaper, but are of significantly lower quality. The coating will chip and flake on you, and the magnetic strength is much weaker as well. Zen magnets are much more expensive, but you get what you pay for, and they will last pretty much forever.

Hey, those are fun! I have some of those too!

Yeah, that's why it's generally better to buy from brands you trust.

Use those magnets to make a permanent creation, then never touch them again.

Yeah, you can do the same thing with buckballs! I like this brand better than buckballs, though!

Thanks! Yeah, magnets-spheres are fun, but there is a bit of a steep learning curve in the beginning!

Indeed, I pride myself in my blobs over everything else!

The real question is...which one is better!?

See one issue I had in the beginning (just got them in the mail today), was, as you mentioned, screwing up polarities in the string. I figured that one out on my own but still glad you pointed it out. My bigger issues are yes I'm extremely new and that the set I have isn't actually called "Zen Magnets" and did not come with a separating card. Mine simply came in the 6x6x6 cube form inside a cylindrical container with cushioning. Any suggestions for a newb?

Yeah, colors aren't as good...Not really the manufacturer's fault, it's just really hard to color them evenly.

Hehe, not a credit card, it's made for splitting magnets only!

No old credit cards, when they expire I destroy them, standard procedure. Playing cards, as you said, are too thin, and index cards would just have the magnets stick together through the paper. Where can I get just a plain PVC card? Looked on Google, kept spitting out ideas for building RFID or Credit cards.

To be honest I completely disagree with this, I have neocubes, And testing them with zen magnets proved to me that they are not so different, I think the magnetic pull is around the same, and they are both durable and high quality, Although, (Not visible to the eye) The zen magnets have a smoother surface (Magnified at 150X)
