fun fact: OJ Simpson auditioned for the role of the Terminator but James Cameron thought OJ was too nice to play a killer

Even if OJ somehow did not kill everybody in that driveway, he's still burning in Hell for bringing The Kardashians into our lives.

You telling me YouTube started because people wanted to see a wardrobe malfunction

I'm so glad that the Mongol Empire, WWI and the Kardashians are on the same list, this is truly an historical compilation of events.

Only in America, Janet Jacksons wardrobe malfunction was considered to be an important event. We, the rest of the world, were not so hysterical about a half-visible nipple. For us, it was funny.
Americans: bunch of prudes.

American History class had a big unit on World War I, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was part of that discussion. Chain reactions like those all start with a single domino.

what about September 11, 2001? The effects are felt worldwide, even today.

I wouldn't say so much about OJ and the Kardashians/Jenners. I only knew of them because of Kim's infamous tape. And that's how she got famous and a reality show. I already knew who OJ was. By the time Kim's father was OJ's lawyer, he was long divorced from her mom Kris

David Schwimmer saying we are Kardashians sounds weird to me

My pick is the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie. The immediate effect was WWI. As this war ended, two other events became important (the domino effect): first was the Treaty of Versailles, whose harsh terms led to the later rise of right wing nationalism under the Nazis and eventually to WWII; second was the carving up of the Middle East under primarily Britain and France. For good and bad (my opinion: mostly bad), these spheres of influence created the modern Middle East. Example: arbitrary borders drawn that had nothing to do with the peoples that lived there, Kurds, Sunni, Shia and Jews to name a few. We are still paying the price for this.

I have another one for you. Hitler fought in WW1 and he was nearly killed by a British soldier, if he hadv'e killed Hitler, WW2 would never have occured.

It's less immediate than, say, Gavrilo Princip's assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand leading to the Great War, but Napoleon's wars of conquest essentially provided the impetus for Nationalism in Europe that ultimately led to to unifications of Italy and Germany in 1861 and 1871 respectively, and the awakening of Balkan nationalism that itself led to Princip's fateful gunshots.

I suppose the meteorite that was said to have killed the dinosaurs would’ve been a pretty big domino effect

Ah The whole Justin Timberlake ripping Janet Jackson's outfit.... Some people say that it was all planned and staged to happen.

As a retired computer programmer who got his first job due to Y2k, the alleged "issue" was never as bad as it was made to be. Banks, which were thought to be the most susceptible to Y2k, have been financing 30-year mortgages well after 1970. They had noticed the issue before then & corrected it for all the banking systems due to those mortgages.
For companies like the one that hired me, they made textiles, and their software would have been affected for a few operations. However, the fix they made was to develop a modual that would handle the date issue. All of us other programmers just had to add like 5 lines of code to invoke that modual. It was largely a cut-and-paste operation.

Surprised and a little disappointed Jeri Ryan's casting as Seven of Nine for Star Trek Voyager leading to the election of Barack Obama as president didn't come up.
