It's interesting to note that once the ball went deeper into the hair gel the faster it began to spin. I believe the deeper the ball went into the hair gel the greater the pressure became because it took more force to go up rather than sideways and since it had limited space to go sideways it could do nothing but build up around the ball, and this force acting upon the ball caused the ball to spin faster and faster.

At least that was my understanding, I'm sure it's nowhere near right. 😂 I'm a welder, not a scientist.
