Dr. Antonio is a conservative man who has dedicated himself to standing up against sensual objects and symbols in public places while the post-war Italian society is being increasingly liberated. He has inextricable links with religious authorities and counts on their generous support for his "moral" deeds.
One day a giant billboard featuring a scantily clad woman is erected outside his apartment window. He tries to have the billboard removed but is met with resistance from the advertising agency and the public. Nevertheless, he does not give up and continues his holy crusade, bringing himself to the verge of lunacy.
