WYLA & WYLB Walbro Carbs!

Working on this Craftsman 29cc Trimmer & I seem to have ordered the wrong carburetor!

The carburetor I needed was a Walbro WYLB-1.

Turns out, I ordered (or was sent) a Walbro WYLA-A2.

Oh well, I ended up cleaning the original carb & after installing a new Diaphragm, it ended up running pretty good!

My customer should be happy to get this back!

Great ordered a brand new carb and got a mirrored one. Actually I went to the great lawn mower dealer and wegot a mirrored one instead. I take the correct part of my old carb and put it on my new one. Only difference is the brass fuel line connections sit on top now.

Hmmm, never seen a left-handed mower, weedwacker or blower by Craftsman in the 30 years of using them. I didn't realize the L-handeds were even sold. Yes, I have the trimmer and your old carb and have purchased. However, I also have a Craftsmanblower and the carb is on the side of the blower as your new carb that didn't fit. So, i suppose that they use same/similar carbs but was geared to use in that model blower while the trimmer as on the left hand side.

Good video. However, I wish that you would have gone a step further (as I have this model) and would have shown a video "breakdown" and cleaning/refurbishing the carb itself.

I've been working on my bro in laws Craftsman 29cc 4 cycle edger and at full throttle it sounds like it's 2 stroking and I don't know what they normally sound like because I've never been around one before. I read in a forum that they're shipped from the factory tuned too lean (with a lean jet I think) and that they weren't permitted at the time to make it run any richer and the carb isn't adjustable at all except for an idle screw. What I'd like to find out is if there's a better carburetor that would work on one or if there's any parts available to richen the carb, I think that's why it sounds like it's 2 stroking at full throttle, probably tuned to lean from the factory and starving for fuel.
