Creality Ender-3 PRO First Prints Look Good!

My first prints on the @Creality3D Ender-3 PRO are decent, but I'm not sure if the PRO is worth the extra cost over the standard Ender-3. Plus, the Ender-3 V2 is out, and it has some fantastic upgrades.

"First prints look good!"

(see's thumbnail)

Me: "Good???? What do you mean that looks good????"

(watches video and realizes it was done on a 1.5mm nozzle)

Me: "Ohhhh. Yeah, that is pretty good...."

My first printer, love this machine, althought by now I think only the steppers and frame are still stock..

I've had mine for a month and love it. Printed well out upon assembly, much like your experience. The only negative has been the warp of the bed. That has been resolved with post it notes and then a glass bed over those to smooth the surface out completely.

My dad purchased a Ender 3 Pro a few months ago. It has been a great 3D printer for him. His previous printer was a kit that had an acrylic frame. We have both been very impressed with the ender 3 pro.
One of the “upgrades” he has done is printing a parts tray to go next to the screen. We also upgraded the motherboard to a newer version that creality sales and it is night and day difference of how quiet it is. It is the same motherboard that is in the creality ender 3 V2.
The quality of detail coming from this machine is great. It doesn’t require much tuning at all to get great prints.
This is a great beginner printer

I have an ender 3 pro and I have to say, its a really solid beginners 3d printer. Sure, its may not be as bulletproof as other 3d printers in terms of reliable print quality out of the box, but this is the perfect printer to learn on. The community for these lil ender 3s is huge and incredibly helpful, which helps add to the learning experiences I got to have using this thing!

And as for what I did with my Ender 3, I swapped out the bowdin extruder for a direct drive so I can print flexibles, and then later upgraded the mobo to a 32 bit bigtreetech mobo so that it can run silently and accept larger firmware packages than the stock mother board allows you to have. While it isn't as nice and seamless as a Prusha i3, its way cheaper, and you can learn a lot while you are dialing it in.

I bought the Pro a year and a half ago - it was my first 3D printer. It was fun to assemble it with a Youtube guide going through every step to make sure everything was nice and tight but not too tight. My first print came out near perfect - now imagine that, as a first time printer, with one of the cheapest 3D printers ever (I got the Pro for $190 since it was on sale during 11/11 sale). A really great printer once you update a few (cheap) parts and print a few extra ones.

My son and I just bought this as our first 3d printer. Almost bone stock other then a roller guide for the filament going into the extruder and the roller for the filament spool and I wish you could see how nice the CHEP cube we printed came out. It is so sharp. Really blown away by how great it did.

I had zero 3d printing experience when I bought my Ender 3. I did have some basic electrical and mechanical knowledge from automotive mechanic training back in the 90s. I didn't have any problems building the printer, and later modifying it. I did my research when purchasing my Ender 3, watching many reviews and build videos (likely one of your's included) so I knew exactly what I was getting into. Like any hobby, a person needs a bit of patience and experience, but in the end it is a great learning experience! Keep on rocking, Joel!

Very impressed by the Ender 3 V2. It is my first printer, so nothing to compare it to. However, print quality is good, and the only print failures I have had have been due to filament tangles that weren't the fault of the printer. I would fit into the category of knowing my way around a toolbox and having watched a lot of 3D printer videos before I started.

Great timing. I just scored one of these for a crazy discount from Amazon (deal is over now). When this video showed up in my subscriptions, I said THAT"S THE THING I GOT. The printer hasn't been here long enough for me to have an opinion, but it looks imposing sitting on its table.

Scary benchy is cool.

My first printer was the ender 3 pro and unfortunately it had a very warped bed and my option was to only print things with small bases in the middle or to only use the outside edge. I ended up returning it and because by that time the V2 came out I went ahead and spent the extras 30 on it. That was back in August. It was doing fine although I did print the z axis spacer to help with it binding, had to replace the Bowden couplers because they where slipping causing the extruder to get clogged, and replaced the springs with the yellow ones because I was having to level the bed every 3 prints and felt the stock did not give though tension. After all of that I had one over night failure which I turned into a blob. Took a few days of a few min here and there to get it cleaned up and as I was finishing the last round of heating up the hotend to brush it off with a brass brush before putting the sock back on and the machine stopped responding. I dissembled the hotend to make sure I didn't pinch a cable causing a short but it still didn't respond. Ended up if I left it completely disconnected for a few days it would turn on and respond for about 30 min and then not get past the splash screen when booting again for a few days. Luckily with the v2 I got the warranty from microcenter and was able to return it for fill price less the warranty since it had been more than a month. I did pick up another v2 at the time but I am going to return it and just order a prusa mini. I would like to have the bigger print volume but I don't want a 3rd creality machine after I have had 2 bad ones and the mk3 is out of my budget. I did really enjoy building both machines though and felt I learned a lot about them from doing that

I use an Ender 3 Pro in a professional and industrial aerospace application.
Mods: All metal extruder, 32bit silent motherboard with Marlin firmware, solid bed mounts, textured glass bed, BLtouch auto bed leveling probe, Capricorn PTFE bowden tube kit, and Z axis gantry braces.
That's it.
A little over 300 bucks total for everything and it prints perfect everytime.
Use Cura for slicing all models.
And use the default Standard 0.20mm layer height profile with a faster 60mm/s print speed.

I just ordered mine last week and waiting to try it. It'll be my first 3d printer but I'm excited to hopefully be successful at this. 😁

I have a couple of these machines. They're great for running multiples of parts

I am having trouble when printing, it runs a strip down the left side, comes back moves to the center, runs a border then it's first slice. Then moves left for each slice until it has move completely left and can move no more. By this time 1/4 of the project is off and flat on the left side of item. I have racked my brains. I need help
