If you want to give Margot glasses but don't want to commit to it, you could always use the reading glasses angle. Like maybe she uses them as to not strain her eyes and prevent headaches when reading, but like she doesn't NEED them. ❤

This is all good, love it. Maybe "Meme" is the catalyst for the time travel? Or like, his name is something ridiculously complicated and Jane just goes "You're Meme now."

The Margo and Emmet story is pretty typical middle school romance stuff - "what if there was an attractive person who was totally obsessed with me and really wanted to be with me?". There's a good reason for this - around middle school is where a lot of people start to get their first crushes, and have to deal with the "oh I like this person but I'm not sure if they like me back" feelings, which is an entirely new (and somewhat scary) thing! So a lot of people will imagine what it might be like to be on the other side of that, as it were.

And it's actually... not a bad thing to think about, in that situation! If someone was exactly my type, and told me they liked me, how would I feel? How would I react? What could they do to win me over? What does someone "exactly my type" even look like? Reading stories like that, or even trying to write your own, is a great way to figure out what you want from life going forward.

Sure, the original Newbie comic was kind of a blob of romance and drama because Young Emma hadn't learned about things like pacing, character growth or story arcs. It's only "bad" because of the author's inexperience, not because the subject matter is "cringy" in itself. :)

For some reason after you described Margo and Jane’s New personalities. My brain immediately went to opposites attract love story. 😂 They start out on afull footing at first not really getting each other, but then there put through that crazy situation with the time travel shenanigans were they have to rely on each other to get through it. As they slowly bond, and eventually fall in love. Idk why, my brain thought of this.😅 anyway Great redesigns,

when you said the bunny was an "agent of chaos" my mind instantly went to "interdimensional / magical chaotic being with a cute exterior" kind of character, like a cute bill cypher (maybe he'd be the antagonist ? or maybe he'd seem like the antagonist just for a worse character to show up ? i definitely think he'd be the source of the time travel book), as for the antagonist (if it's not the bunny) i think a sort of shapeshifting character taking the form of proeminent figures through time to change history would be interesting, the kind that doesn't have a "real appearance" but just constantly morphs into everyone and takes on their personality (could be very unsettling)

If you were going to keep the rabbit as a agent of chaos that a college student is keeping as a pet I think changing the name to Mimi would be sort of fun. Or even if you don’t make it chaos based you could name it after something related to time (or maybe the rabbit from Alice in wonderland because “late for a very important date” and all that) just as like /foreshadowing/. Could be fun. Whatever you choose I’m super excited to see more content from you! Love your work

I was thinking that Emmet being from the regency era makes his old “random XD” humor almost fit a bit better like he’s heard middle schoolers and adults trying to fit in with the kids saying things and he’s repeating it in an attempt to fit but he has zero context and so it always falls flat? Just a thought, anyways I’m subscribing because I love your art and you made me giggle a lot in this video and I’m excited to see more from you ^^

What if Meme is a magical being that Margo "happened" to adopt one day (in reality the bunny orchestrated a bunch of events to happen just so that she would stumble into the adoption center and see him). He is also the one who gets Jane and Margo set up as study partners, and leads them to a magical book that he's planted for them. His plan is to either bring forth chaos from the past into the future, or to spring humanity's development farther forward for his own nefarious deeds..

I always find it super fun when artists make videos redrawing their old OCs and artwork, hearing them talk about their mindset at the time, old ideas, scrapped ideas, etc. etc. I really would love to do this but a lot of my old artwork used to be at my grandpa's house. My mom threw away/gave away almost everything when he and we moved during mid - late 2020 and I only have my art both digitally and physically from 2019 and my school artwork from kindergarten and 1st grade. R.I.P. my old art
