To make it easier for the robot to place the pieces in the center of each square, you could put magnets on the pieces and have tiny magnets on each square so it kinda corrects the positioning. I don't know if that would throw off the program that reads the board, but it's something to think about if you haven't already done it.

Hello, a great project I did the same project, but you used 270 degrees servo motor and 180 degrees I used it so how can I fix it going wrong position?
