There is no story for this video. I felt like nothing I could say could do Yosemite justice. Even when I'm there, I don't like to talk much.

I spent a long time picking out the images for this video - I have hundreds of them - but I limited myself to the images I took last fall, during a three-day visit to the park over Thanksgiving. Many of them taken during a sunrise walk in the back of the Valley - in a loop between Curry Village and the General Store - on Thanksgiving morning.

Bumper seasons are the best times to see the park. Especially during the period of Covid. Not many people there, and if you time your hikes right, you might not see any people while you are out and about. Of course the main attractions will have people, but the deeper you go, the sparser it will be.

Before Covid, I hated Yosemite Valley. I never enjoyed my time there. It was always crowded, always noisy, always frustrating. It was often like a mini-urban city full of traffic jams and cigarette smoke. Everything I wanted to get away from.

But now my mind has changed.

This video is meant to be a bit of a meditation - no narration or words. Make up your own story as you go down the paths. Let me know your story in the comments below!

I live in a 1971 VW Bus that I call "The Escape Pod" in California. This is my second VW bus and I've been living this lifestyle off and on for 42+-years. I think I have a lot of information to share, as well as a lot of stories to tell.

Even though I've been wanting to do this series for awhile, I didn't really ever want to be in front of the camera! So please be patient while I get used to it!
