Comparing Google's Pixel 7 Pro with the regular 7 and mid-range 6a to see which 2022 smartphone is best for you. From camera tests and gaming performance to the everyday specs, here's how that £849 Pixel 7 Pro stacks up to the regular flagship and 6a.

Those hot new 7 series phones pack the 50MP Octa PD Quad Bayer camera from that 6 series, vs the Pixel 6a's 12.2MP dual pixel cam from the 5. However, thanks to Google's next-level processing, you'll get great looking photos with any of these blowers. The Pixel 7 Pro and original can pump out super-accurate colours and less noisy low light shots, while for now you've got some exclusive camera features. I'll be testing out the de-blur and other bits for my full review.

While the Pixel 7 series smartphones boast an upgraded Tensor G2 chipset with improved Mali GPU, right now there's not a huge improvement for gaming. Genshin Impact is still a juddery experience on higher detail levels. Here's hoping for some optimisation in the coming weeks to sort it out.

I'm glad I purchased a pixel 6a. I got a good deal of camera at affordable price. Google makes sure that the a series users don't miss out on the pixel fun yet at the same time make feel premium model buyer's purchases justified.

I was mad when I bought the 6a and then a week later the 7 and 7pro came out. But after seeing your review I'm happy with my choice. Always my go to for tech reviews

Got the 6A as I think phone prices are ridiculous and what you get for the money with the 6A is amazing and all this about 90 and 120 Hertz screen technology is great but what reviewers tend to miss out is the fact that the 6A is 60 Hz for two reasons to keep the price down and also the battery last heck of a lot longer which is what people buying a no fuss 6A want. They don't want the faf of having to charge up all the time
Battery anxiety is no fun

Camera UI battery life feel size and Weight is all brilliant for the money

I have the 3a, 4a5g, and 5. My favorite by far is the 3a, mainly for the size and weight. (The 5 would be great if I could actually hear the speaker they brilliantly hid under the glass...) I'm hoping Google will release something in the 5.8 to 6" range again. (Probably hoping in vain.) Anyway, great review as always!

My Hazel 7 Pro and watch turned up about an hour ago. Setting it up and playing with it now - The watch is a lot smaller than I thought. But it was free so yaaay :D

My 7 will arrive today. Very excited to try it. I've been a large phone guy for a long time as well as having to have all the bells and whistles hence my current s22 ultra. But I'm just finding lately that I want something with a smaller form factor and all of the features that some of these phones have I end up never using. Just want a compact phone that does all the minimal typical stuff really well. Hopefully the 7 is the answer.

Id have gone for the Pro if it didnt have the curved screen, not a fan of that and I think the matt metal over polished will age a little better in terms of scratching on the 7.

I got the Pixel 6a for 300 quid and it's my first pixel phone, I like it very much. The finger print sensor is hit and miss but generally it's quite consistent, the camera is great, the Tensor chip is great too, it's great to see an Android phone that is gonna be supported for a lot of years.

My pixel 7 pro arrived yesterday and so far I am really impressed just wish I didn't have to wait to order the watch until November, upgraded from an Xperia 5iii, camera is fantastic so far, Cod mobile seems a lot smoother. Only thing I'm struggling with at the minute is the jump in hand set size the thing is a beast and so much heavier. Great review again Spurt keep it up.

I own both Pixel 6a and Pixel 7Pro
And I am seriously disappointed of the Pixel 7 Pro's main camera.
I was expecting a huge difference since it's a 2, 5x larger sensor and they used it for a 2nd year in a row .
