She reminds me of the Chinese I worked with on the Ship. Humble and willing to get kicked around. This is the part a lot of people miss when looking at a Chinese person in academia. A lot of people who get on TV are obnoxious. They think they deserve not only Harvard but the bed you sleep in.

I also share a common heritage as Fei-Fei but from an earlier generation. I find her bootstrap life from an immigrant family to a distinguished scientist in her field very impressive. I differ, however, in that I see myself as American and not globalist. America has contributed to rebuilding the world's nations since WWII. Now the world's nations (Europe, Japan, China and Emerging Markets) and are on equal footing with America and sometimes with diverging interest following a different drummer. America is faced record budget deficits from excessive spending and can collapse from open border illegal immigration. This course is a road to socialism. I do not want to live in a socialist society with central planning (government bureaucrats) where your efforts are not differentiated (high taxes). I believe in reforming immigration to allow professionals (students that can be placed with a job) to stay in this country. I suggest Fei-Fei apply AI research to reduce healthcare cost (improve quality of life) and construct a more efficient government.
