The R171 top mount design is completely different. Be advised that you cannot refit the springs without the special spring compressors!

How much did they cost you already complete with spring .

I have a 09 SLK300 R171 w/ 135k. Front suspension getting tired, going over supermarket speed bumps at 5 mph feels like wheel is coming through the hood. I was warned about getting those package deals with strut and spring reassembled. They said ride height may change along with not that great quality on the shock tube. Could you share any ride height or quality issues. Also, who manufactured the shock ?
One more thing, what was that spray you used, you described as a film.

If you could list the source of the part that would be great. I'm getting ready to replace just the coil springs but I'd rather avoid dealing with compressing/decompressing springs and do the swap like the video shows
