What about playing David James up front? I think Stuart might go for that… ⚽️

Stuart's selection cannot be anymore sterile than the 'lot' that played last Friday! Give these other squad players a chance to get match-fit and to present themselves as bona-fide alternatives to those who played in the first two games. His selected team should ne more than a match for the Welsh and would give the whole squad a 'freshen-up'.

Get foden and grealish running at them.I understand that Southgate is ultra safe and boring but at the end of it England with that attacking threat should be going at teams not holding out for draws.🙈

Well it is a matter of opinion...
In the early 90s many believed David Hirst was the one to take over from Gary Lineker.
In the mid90s many thoughts Andy Cole was going to be the next gen striker.
And in the late 90s many thought Michael Owen was going to be the star striker
But through out those times it always remained Alan shearer and Teddy sheringham partnership.
Alan shearer was Graham Taylor's first choice.
Terry Venables then brought Teddy sheringham to partner.
And even the rising star of Michael Owen couldn't break up that partnership...
There was always a debate on that partnership .
But I agree it's a squid game and who's to say who should be playing and who's not?..

This is so naive from Pearce. Firstly using a defence that haven't played together is asking for trouble. They haven't played together because his best mate is useless. Then, having defended his mates refusal to change things he thinks that same moron is going to change things for this game.

England won't win anything against the better teams of quality playing mount. Maddison and Bellingham would have to start for me along with Foden and Grealish. These players will get the ball to Kane and Kane has to learn to stay around the 18 yard box. He's the only main striker in the world cup that has to drop deep because nobody else creates for him. Trent has to be given a chance because if we continue to play like we did against the USA with this safety theme we are out.

Pickford, McGuire, Stones, Walker, Shaw, Grealish, Foden, Rice, Bellingham, Maddison, Kane 4-3-3

Let’s not forget that this man put David James up front.

I don’t think Southgate will make wholesale changes, but he will bring in Henderson, Foden, maybe Grealish and maybe Trent and Walker if they’re fit.
Can’t really see Coady or even White starting, only if Maguire isn’t fit

Wales needs to Win Big, by 4 goals, and US beating Iran, so they can be tied at 4 points with England & win tiebreakers : GD and then Head-to- Head result. ( Please correct me if I’m wrong about the tiebreaker rules )

Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 needs to play their best game, any special plays; pressing setup, any tricks up their sleeve, now is time to do everything they have & maximum Effort to pull one over Va England.
Will they be able to do it ? Most wouldn’t think they have chance to win, let alone win! No result is surprising at this World Cup but this a lot to ask for from Wales. But if it was easy; then World Cup wouldn’t be loved ❤ by billions around the World 🌎!!!!

You cannot argue with that selection. We must learn to come to terms with the fact that a tournament is a squad event, not a 'team' event. If you aren't going to use half your squad - why bother bringing them?

England have the individually talent. Some say the English players playing in the PL are playing with top foreign players, which is true. But they do turn up over and over again. So no doubt they have the quality. They've had british and foreign mangers. Also no one has a right to win a tournament alone on name, quality or talent. You need luck. Which you can control. What england and other nations lack to succeed is passion passion passion. Some teams have loads of passion but lack quality. Some have a different combination. If you can combine quality with passion, fight and determination you are likely to succeed.

You have to stick with Saka. Harry Kane looks tired, give him a rest and put Wilson up top. Grealish on the other side and then Foden in the number ten role.

Stuart Pearce is just another Gareth Southgate. I don't understand why people are acting so surprised. Football fans seem to have short memories, not remembering what this guy did with the wealth of talent of that Team GB squad at the London 2012 Olympics. Like Southgate, his management completely handicapped our chances.

I dont know why rely on SP opinon on anything to do with England. He achieved sweet FA as a player with England and even less in coaching. This is the man who justifies everything GS does. His Foden video topped it for me. Sick of the bloke.
