So... the point of this talk is to say that you should pay attention to all sides of an issue in order to fix it better, instead of putting your fingers in your ears and screaming from one side of it?

Yo, That's Pretty R a d i c a l .

Just remember, finding common ground and compromising your morals to try and look more grown up aren't the same thing.

Oof! This is a powerful talk. I am very grateful for your confidence. You inspire me. Those that I would see in a common ground area would be those without land and/or homes with landlords and bankers.

The story of the Hindu Indian lady's survival because of a thoughtful Muslim family is quite touching and commendable. But that considerate human act is not inspite of Islam; it is despite Islam. Yes, it is quite possible for a cat and a dog to be buddies. But that is an exception to the rule. The point here is that no matter how "radical" it may appear, "common ground" starts from a WEAK position, always. The same way being "politically-correct" could never be a lasting solution to any meaningful differences. At any rate, I still commend the lady for her radical approaches; it does not hurt to keep trying, because so is life's design.
