On the night of October 8, the Odesa region faced terror from drone attacks launched by the Russian Federation. The assault primarily targeted the city of Chornomorsk, where a high-rise building experienced devastating fires due to the strikes. According to Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, several residential apartments on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors caught fire, covering an area of 100 square meters. Fortunately, the blaze was swiftly extinguished, and no casualties or injuries were reported.
In addition to the damage in Chornomorsk, an administrative production building in the Odesa district sustained significant damage, leading to a fire covering an area of 50 square meters. During the attacks, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian forces launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from Crimea and 19 strike drones from Primorsk-Akhtarsk. Remarkably, air defense forces intercepted 18 of the drones, with one drone falling harmlessly into an open area without detonating.
