GIS Lesson 6 2: Feature Topology

In this lesson we will alter some geometries and play around with some digitizing techniques for adding parts and holes to polygons, extending and trimming features, splitting and merging and have a look at the snapping options.

Thanks a lot for your lesson! I have a question regarding adding the new Polygon Feature (Minute 3:07). I have done everything you stated, but once I input the ogc_ifd and click OK, the polygon does not appear on the map canvas... It does appear on the attributes table which confirms the creation of the polygon, yet I cannot make it to appear there. Do you have by any chance an idea concerning how I can solve this? Thank you!

Whenever I try to move the vertices, I get a rectangle. How can I move the vertices without getting that? I've tried different settings but always get the rectangle with no snapping. Thanks for your advice in advance.
