Valheim How To Enclose Dock

and was requested on how to actual get the boat inside the docks so here is how its done.

P.s Using log poles or stone pillars for support would greatly improve the stability of your dock and allow you to fully put a roof over your boat but this video shows you the main way allowing you to improve this design if you wish and also wood degrades in water but not past half HP so no need to repair it or worry about the dock breaking.

Of all the videos I found demonstrating how to build a dock and enclosed dock, yours was the shortest, the easiest to not feel like I had to follow verbatim, and it also felt the easiest to watch once or twice and think, "oh yeah I can do that!"

I notice with my wood pieces in the water, they take water damage, is that something that can avoided?

I've run into a weird thing. Built a hunting cabin on an adjacent Island. Built the cabin. Started the dock. Halfway through the build of the dock, I noticed my wood was rotting. Like I could literally watch it rot. It appears to stop at 50%, but it looks like grey ass. I figure it might be the water. But here's the weird thing. It's spreading to other structures. My hunting cabin is starting to rot as well. Starting as close to the dock. And spreading backward. I've got a case of wood rot I'm struggling to understand. I haven't had issues on my other island. Both camps are in Meadow biom. Anyone run into that? The dock and cabin are physically connected by a ladder.
