Baku hosted TEKNOFEST-Azerbaijan festival

From May 26 to May 29, Baku hosted TEKNOFEST-Azerbaijan Aviation, Cosmonautics and Technology Festival, which was held outside of Turkey for the first time. The festival took place in Baku Crystal Hall and on the territory of the Seaside National Park.
Teknofest has been held annually since 2018, jointly organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, run by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology and Baykar Makina CTO Selçuk Bayraktar, in partnership with more than 60 state institutions, universities, and private companies in Turkey.
Within the framework of the festival in Baku, technological competitions in 8 nominations, Smart Karabakh hackathon, Azerbaijani startup summit Take Off and European eSports Cup for the video game Rocket League were held.
The exhibition featured aircraft, helicopters, armored vehicles, and unmanned aerial vehicles, including Bayraktar AKINCI and Bayraktar TB2 drones.
There was also an air show with participation of Su-25 and MiG-29 fighters and military helicopters of the Azerbaijani Air Force, aerobatic teams Solo Turk, Turkish Stars, and Hurkush, ATAK helicopters, and AKINCI UAVs.
Azerbaijan-Turkey Friendship Center was inaugurated as part of the festival.
On May 28, the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan and their families attended the Festival. Nobel Prize winner Professor Aziz Sanjar was the guest of honor of the Festival.
After the speeches of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, award ceremony for the winners of various competitions took place.
On May 29, the TEKNOFEST festival's closing day, the technical director of Turkish Baykar Makina Seljuk Bayraktar stated that TEKNOFEST could be held regularly in #Baku and other cities of #Azerbaijan.
