Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft, dubbed the SS John Young, departed the International Space Station on 8 February 2019, at 16:16 UTC (11:16 EST). Robotics controllers unberthed Cygnus from the Station’s Unity module, then Expedition 58 Flight Engineers Anne McClain of NASA and David Saint-Jacques of the Canadian Space Agency used the station’s Canadarm2 robotic arm to release Cygnus. The NG-10 Cygnus Cargo Delivery Spacecraft is named in honor of the American astronaut John Watts Young, Commander of the Apollo 16 mission and the ninth person to walk on the Moon.
