I the cover could have been for a Septic Tank, hard to tell. My own place has two concrete covers about 3 meters apart. See if there are any leftovers of a campground, or older home nearby. You did find a badge for Hunting association, so sounds like it.

An observation we made years ago on a boer war camp site, where we found a large mix of artefacts from horse shoes to smaller stuff, and when we tipped the stuff out, my friend said, what a pile of junk to anyone that is not an enthusiast. Very true. I still hav 4 boxes full of all sorts.

It’s crazy how there’s relics on the surfaces after so many years. I mean WW2 really wasn’t that long ago but it’s still crazy how clean some of the surface relics are.

I live in Belgium and I went to the Ardennes, got permissions on a field and makes me so depressed I only found coke cans :(
