Not only do turn signals not give the right of way still as they have to safely merge, you can’t use a continuos signal across every lane of traffic. You need a separate signal for every merge.

That is absolutely scary., that a person thinks because they have their turn signal on that that gives them the right away. Since I purchased my dash cam I have been rear ended on the freeway not to mention getting cut off and almost side swiped. The camera saved me from an at fault collision and the other driver got charged with a hit and run misdemeanor. I would encourage everyone to get a dash came if you are able.

when merging into another lane you don’t have the right of way so either need to make sure it’s clear or make sure it’s clear

There are so many people who seem to think they can just put a turn signal on and swerve across lanes. Anyone already in their lane has 100% right of way to someone attempting to get into that lane. A turn signal doesn't guarantee you anything. Cops should have cited the two who lied for lying to law enforcement.
