I learned an interesting fact: They would tie a rope around the waist of the high priest before he entered the Holy of Holies. That way, if something happened to him inside, they could pull him out without having to enter.

For those who don't believe that the Old Testament prefigures events in the New Testament examine the interior of the Temple as seen in 5:10. In plain view we see the configuration of a cross. Clearly the temple was pointing to Christ's crucifixion as the greatest event of manknd's salvation. This is how many Christian churches are also structured.

Correction, The reason you can’t go up to the temple mount is because we all are impure, and the entire temple mount is forbidden to go into without purification, which we cannot do nowadays…
