The only problem is that here in Europe you don't find empty bullet casings in the forest, or if you do, it's rather alarming

I think that if you're lost in a forest and start finding bullet casings around, you probably have bigger issues.

Very cool. :-) If you decide to make it at home, instead of grinding it all the way down, just use a 32TPI hacksaw blade to trim off the end.
