Gabriela Guimarães Gabi | Monster of the Vertical Jump | Powerful Volleyball Spikes !!! Gabriela Braga Guimarães, nickname Gabi,[1] (born 19 May 1994) is a Brazilian indoor volleyball player.[2] She plays as an outside spiker.[3] She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in the Women's tournament, winning a silver medal.

Guimarães played with her national team,[5] winning the bronze at the 2014 World Championship[6] when her team defeated Italy 3–2 in the bronze medal match.

During the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship, Guimarães played with the Brazilian club Rexona Ades Rio and her team lost the bronze medal match to the Swiss Voléro Zürich.[8] She helped her national team to win the 2015 South American Championship gold medal[9] and she was also awarded Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter.[10]

She led her national team as captain[11] to the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League where they won the silver medal.

What differentiates Gabi from others is that she plays not only with her techniques and precision but also with her brain, she is fast at making decision which is optimal to a situation, she is smart in finding spots on the court which is the weakest. When it needs a brutal force to attack, she hits hard, when it needs a slight touch to have the ball land on an empty spot, she tips to carry the ball to the desired spot, when the game takes patience (e.g. vs. Japan), she gives the patience, when the game requires fast reaction (e.g. vs. Italy), she responds swiftly. Not mentioning that she is a great captain who can unite the whole team, you can just see it so easily from the reactions of and interaction with her teammates on and off court. She is a player who has exceptionally high emotional intelligence and intelligence, such an athlete!
