Lawyer sues six SPVM agents for racial profiling

“How can you be a police officer and just lie,” says Kwadwo Yeboah, a defence lawyer who is suing six Montreal police officers and the city for racial profiling. Melina Giubilaro reports.

When are judges gonna stop going along with departments reasons for not having body cameras? I'll bet there is enough in the budget for them unless, they are spending taxpayers money somewhere else! Let's check to see what the city's budget plan says!!

Of course cops say they can't afford body cams because all the money is going to citizens who are suing the city for wrong doing.

I hope the gentleman sues the officers for at least 10 million dollars. Situations like this should be nipped in the bud and it seems to me law enforcement who consistently say they defend the rights of all people are one of the greatest racial profiling in North America. Law enforcement are steadily showing themselves to be an enemy to social justice and an enemy to humanity. The road to the lake of fire and brimstone is wide and those in law enforcement seem to be running down that road at a fast track.

This lawyer says "normal citizens do not have the means or time" to fight these corrupt charges in court. So why doesn't he take a leap and start defending these "normal citizens" from the corrupt legal system which is stacked against them? The citizens need good lawyers to fight against the system and to encourage more lawyers to do the same!!!!

It seems to me if bodycams help keep cops inline there would likely be less lawsuits. If there's less lawsuits the amount of money spent defending and paying off lawsuits would decrease.
In other words the cost of bodycams is cheaper than paying for lawsuits that routinely run into the millions!
Lets not forget the benefit of creating a more honest police force!
The bottom line Is cops don't want the public keeping an eye on them! Just saying🤔

All police should be required to wear AND use body cameras. It protects both sides. It also forces police to act appropriately in their interaction with citizens on routine traffic stops.

How about suspending qualified immunity until all officers have body cams. If they lie then or abuse their powers remove QI for good.
