I actually think you are doing well. You are navigating a difficult time and still doing your best not to take on any debt. In my eyes that’s a massive win. I think you hit the nail on the head. There comes a point where tightening the belt further simply becomes counterproductive and the focus needs to be put on increasing income. You have this amazing platform and the opportunity to increase your income there so focus on trying to find the motivation. Also on the work front any chance of a raise there or a cost of living adjustment? Sending you hugs 🤗

Sending love. As a Son of a single Mother you are a superstar! You’ll get through this stress, just keep going and thank you for the content. I will try to support with any spare change I get!

I know about that anxiety. I’ve had it a lot, myself. Look for resources. Heat yourselves, not your home. Look for yellow stickers. Try Olio. I think Too Good To Go is ok if you have a fiver to risk, which you don’t. This month, try some Asda Basics branded items. It won’t kill you to go basics when money is tight and you might just find you prefer them. Basics brand is usually found on the bottom shelf in each section (not anywhere near eye level). Can you limit your dishwasher use to once a week and during off peak hours? I’ve started to do that by washing up all my pots and pans and then putting them through the dishwasher after a big meal prep day or before canning.

My Feb was going okay but then I blew a wad on 27 Feb. Exactly why we should lock up or freeze our credit cards!!!

My March budget was done a few weeks ago. It’s going to be tight, with more days than money and that wad to pay off. Fortunately, I have a gift card to use for groceries.

Hang in there. Everyone is feeling this anxiety or they will be, soon.💖

Vinted is a great place to sell clothes you no longer need or the kids have grown out of. I discovered it before Christmas and have sold loads of things that I otherwise would not have got any money for. It's very easy to do and you don't pay out for postage, no selling fees either really recommend it to make a few extra pounds. Take care hope things improve for you.

I think you should join your household budget and cat budget together for this tight month and buy as economical brands as possible just for now
I have a cat and he will eat as many pouches as I would give him but I limit him to 1 pouch a day and dry food. Also buy cans of cat food as I feel the pouches, tho they love them, don’t really satisfy them. My cat will eat his dry food well if I limit his wet, your doing an amazing job! 🎉

I’m feeling that tight budget!
We are having to budget on sick pay this month and we are literally living on pennies after paying the bills etc…
It’s so frustrating!
Looking forward to seeing how you get on through this month ❤

This is the first video I’ve ever watched if yours and I just want to say you’re doing great. I am in Australia and I think I know what’s gone on and let me say, I’m in the exact same position which is why I’m here. ❤

I would be interested in a weekly check in. I sold quite a few items of gold jewellery just before Xmas it got me through December 😀 sometimes it’s hard to part with these items but it did help me - keep going you are amazing and you will look back one day when you are in a better place and be proud of how you got through these difficult times - sending love 💕

Good luck! Household budget could surely be less? And children budget seems high. I know it's hard but if that is for activities can you actually afford that? Hope your food budget is enough, enjoyed your recent video on food shopping xx

Aaah bless you. I do hope this month is not to tough on you. With the help of your recent budget meals & book from your Etsy store to keep me on track my tight budget is looking a bit more hopeful for March. Take care 😊

Hi Nicola. I’ve been going to a Community Grocer once a week & for £2.50 it’s been a blessing. Anyone can go working or not. I’ve switched cat litter from £5.99 a bag for 5 ltrs to Tescos own. £1.95 for 10 ltrs & it’s fine. My cat doesn’t go out. I’m not eating meat everyday now. Everything is pared back. The minute my son goes to work the heating is turned down. I’ve been selling my handbags & household stuff I don’t use. Less clutter is a bonus I suppose. Please look after yourself. I know it’s hard being a single mum.💐💐

I'm interested in your end of month recap, as it possibly could highlight where savings can be made.
Thankyou for the video....not done my budget for March yet!!! Unexpected roof repairs after the gales earlier in the month 😔. April is always a bad month ...not looking forward to the council tax increases, nor the end of the government's help on fuel bills. I'm going to try and stay positive, still working though only part time at almost 67, otherwise I'd be in the workhouse if they still existed

Nicola I am very sorry to hear you describe how challenging life is for you right now. I love your dividend videos (what first drew me to your channel) and this video is in such contrast to where you counted up your monthly dividends. I think you inspired me to spread my investments among stocks that paid dividends in different months. I hope your side hustles pick up and bring in some bacon for you! And also hope that both parents are contributing to the children's well being. I have total empathy here for your situation and feel very fortunate in my own circumstances (never taking it for granted).

Hi, I think you should definitely check and see if you are intitled to some help financially. We are retired and thought we weren't intitled to a certain benefit and put off applying for it. Anyway we decided to just give it a go and got a letter a few days ago telling us that we will get two benifits . We were speechless!!!. So nothing ventured nothing gained. Sending you blessings, I can see you are struggling 🙏.

You're doing a really great job Nicola 🙂 I'd be interested in an end of month 'round up' video. I'm also keen to hear how you get on with your tiny food budget, maybe a video of the months food plan & cost of food for that? Good luck x

Pet food - check with your veterinarian to help you with information on what vegetables you can give your pet to make the pet food stretch further. I have a friend who steams grated carrots and adds to her cat food to make it go further. I believe there are other veg you can use too.

I feel for you regarding lawyers fees. My sister-in-law shocked me with her costs, she eventually had to set up a payment plan. I wish I could help you financially, but I will watch all adverts. Please do a close-out video, I love watching those sort of videos!

I've raised my children. It was rough at times. I now have saved and prepped for the last few years. All my bills are 2 months ahead. I have an emergency fund...sinking funds. I have a small wall of food saved up. 4 freezers with meat and veggies and other things. I won't stop stocking up.
