IKEA Crafter's Spotlight - Kitchen Department

IKEA is such a fantastic store for any crafter or artist to visit! While my Crafter's Guide to IKEA was very popular, there were many who asked for a slower, more detailed look at the store and what it has to offer for crafters. So, I am offering this spotlight series, focusing on one IKEA department at time, some tips to shopping, and look at what it has to offer. Finally moving out of our current house so I saved up my crafting money to outfit a brand new craft room. The Norden table was the first on my list to hold my cricut. I don’t use it often but putting it away completely is very inconvenient. The compact nature of the table will be great to keep it out of the way but super convenient to pull one side of the table out when I want to use it

All great ideas! Ikea is a crafter's dream store. It would have made it a lot easier to set up my craft room years ago if they'd been around then. lol I gathered my supplies from hardware stores, closet, kitchen and office departments as well as up cycle two bathroom vanity cabinets as an island, with a bit of tweaking.

Find a Habitat Resale store and buy used kitchen/shop cabinets - usually great quality and much cheaper. Some cities have church resale and builders resale here you can find great ideas and bargains! May have to repaint but that’s what crafters do😊

I have the Bror utility cart. I have my heat press on it. I love the fact that it has wheels and can be moved around since I have a swing away heat press. And it’s extremely durable and easy to put together.

I have the grey Ikea cabinets in my kitchen, love them. There are lots of storage items from Ikea in my craftroom as well. So worth the 2 hour drive to my Ikea! Probably a good thing it is two hours away for my wallet 😃

They're probably not IKEA, but when I moved into this house, the kitchen had waaaay too many cupboards for me! So, I took 3 full and one slimline wall and floor units for my craft room. The worktop is just the right height for paper crafting - standing up and moving about - no need to make room for a chair! Plenty of storage above and below the worktop. I had other storage from the previous place, so that is all along the opposite wall. I took the doors off the floor units, and hang old towels from lines below the worktop. Always something to wipe hands on!

Weekdays are the best time for IKEA here in Montréal too. Prepare a visit with their app then proceed through the store at one’s leisure

Thank you! I love IKEA and get overwhelmed when I visit. The key is to prepare before you visit and try to stay focused. I want a craft room for my dollhouse and miniatures workspace, furniture building, etc. but now it's only a dream. I love your videos! ❤
