As european, I now understand Australian strict border control.
It's not for them stopping our harmless bugs entering their land, but for us to keep their monsters from spreading all over the globe!

Leave it to Australia to give me another reason to never go...

As a kid I always wanted to go to Australia. As an adult, I'd rather just visit Antarctica

Texas: You think that is big
Florida: Hold my beer
Australia: You call that a beer

Australia, where you can go to the beach and pull up the damned Midgard Serpent.

Just knowing that the Bobit worm lives in the sand is enough reason for me to stay away from the beach

Its called a Eunice aphroditois, or the bobbit worm, its a benthic bristle worm that lives in warm marine waters. It can grow up to three meters long. They hunt by burrowing their whole body on the ocean floor and waiting until its antennae detect prey. It then strikes with its sharp mandibles.

Pls like if this is helpful

Why is it that every time I see another video from Australia, I feel like I'm in a Sci-Fi horror movie?

That’s a Bristle Worm, I’ve pulled those out of my saltwater reef tank on numerous occasions, that exact size too. They are scavengers and eat whatever is on the ocean bottom, live in the sand, and if you touch it you will regret it as those bristles hurt

Always wondered where the baby sandworms from Dune were born and reared, now I know. 😂

Note to self: never sunbathe nude at an Australian beach.
