He didnt want to be a lord. People get this all wrong. He and his scholars discovered something, forbidden knowledge, that awekened the frenzied flame in him. Then nanaya told him he has to endure and stabbed him with his weapon that subdues the flame of frenzy.

I’m not sure that it was Midra’s wish to become The Lord of Frenzied Flame, rather, it was the fate he was puppeteered into being.

Midra’s Manse is clearly meant to be a research sanctuary of some kind, evident from the copious amounts of burnt books practically thickening the walls of the place, and there is a memory-ghost-thing that genuinely wonders why the Hornsent Inquisition sacked the place.

It’s a theory that Midra was simply studying the Frenzied Flame in a controlled environment but the Inquisition - driven by paranoia and cruelty - got the tiniest whiff of this and decided that everyone in the Manse needed to go to stop the spread of Frenzy, counterintuitively and ironically spreading it themselves as the negative emotions born from such a brutal and merciless event no doubt caused the Flame to flourish.

Building off of this Midra-puppet idea; Nanaya’s corpse (or what is assumed to be Nanaya’s corpse) carried that weird-ass Frenzied Flame torch, heavily implying that the Flame that took over the Abyssal Woods originally came from her and that she was the one hoping to turn Midra into The Lord of Frenzied Flame.

Or that’s what Vaati and a few others - myself included - think, anyway.

He was strong hearted and endured all the pain of losing all his loved ones while still holding back all the chaos, he held back the frenzied flame because he knew it was something that aren't supposed to be let out in the lands between and in the shadow of the erdtree. He have a strong heart and compassion which the frenzied flame hates the most that's why we as the tarnished who doesn't have anyone or anything we loved on the game is what gave us the power to accept and become the lord of frenzied flame we're just that speck of dust in the world that we could accept such things without any regrets

His "endure" was about preventing this, resisting becoming a lord. This whole time he could have triggered his transformation anytime. The tarnished only pushes this.

I think the spell we should have gotten for Midra’s remembrance, is the attack where he summons the little floating fire ball and then it explodes after a short delay or the phase transition attack. As for his weapon, the AOW it has is perfectly fine, but I would have liked it to be the attack where he thrusts the sword, and then thrusts again with the spikes protruding outwards. I think that would have been really cool.
