I just received my Richard the Lionheart Denier today from OPC. What a good experience. James was great. Coin even looks better in person than what I saw in the pictures on the OPC site.

The position of “fingers” that you mention is the position of the hand used for blessings. The crosses are interesting and could have been used by Templars and other merchants.

Awesome European medieval quality coins ! BTW, Flanders has no relationship to the Simpsons, but it´s a region in Central Europe. Today it´s part of Belgium and the Netherlands.

Just think, these coins could've been in the hands of the Knights Templar, who were prevalent in France during the latter part of the 13th century, until Friday, October 13th, 1307, when King Philip iv of France had them executed. To which where we get the infamous Friday 13th

Does having the 'hoard designation' on the lable increase the value? Or do they do that to apease the egotistical person who submitted the coins?
