In this video, I take the cheapest guitar cable possible, and test it against a Mogami cable. I was definitely shocked a bit by the results. Let me know what you think in the comments! Do you need a good cable? Or should we focus on more important elements in our rig

What did you guys think? I think its very interesting how much louder the cheap cable was....

Not totally fair since it seems evident the mogami cable is considerably shorter.

OK, a while ago, tried this, replaced the cheap cable with a high quality one and did the same test on a DAW.

It was a "holy shit moment."
It's amazing how much tone and detail I was losing with the CRAPPY cable. Always quality cables ever since.

Please, buy quality cables if you care about your detail, if you don't cheap cables then, its all good.

As a technician who makes their own Shielding and CONNECTORS are the biggest difference in price. Over time, DURABILITY is a huge part also.

I bought a 1500$ lead cable from amazon. To my surprise, I got a free American Standard Strat along with it. 10/10 would buy again.

From the spectrum I see that the Mogami distributes the sound better, it is more uniform
.
Also the Mogami seems to have less background noise. However, I think it is a comparison to see live with the amplifier on

I don't know about anyone else, but I could tell a lot of difference between the two. Part of the reason is because I had studio headphones on while was watching this video.

The cable does matter, but how about the cable plugs, does a 50cent plugs make a difference than the 3$ plugs ?

Thank you for the video, for me the Mogami was more musical and controlled, personally I couldn’t listen to the budget cable in comparison.

suspected I had a cheap Reverb cable start to go bad last eve....switched to a new higher end cable (Fender) and unexpectedly noticed an immediate difference in the tone.

I dont hear a difference but i like the feel of the cable

However, im a bit confused on shielded vs unshielded. Which one should i get and does it matter?

nice stuff, got here cause i was comparing my sommer cable, which is sold by the meter for soldering, and some amazon ugreen cheap stuff and was amazed by the difference, and this videos shows exactly the same result. the expensive cables have a so much more even frequency distribution, funnily enough i thought you can almost hear it even more on clean and distortion demo.

The cheaper cable is on a wide side but the mogami is precise more focus or detailed narrow side

I didn't hear an appreciable difference in tone. I think the best reason for the expensive cable is reliability and warranty.

For me the cheap cables always have a 50/50 shot that they're gonna not work in a month. That's the reason to spend more. Cause you just throw money out the window. 1 cable should last you years and years.
