The mining giant Rio Tinto has apologised after losing a radioactive capsule in Western Australia. The tiny object disappeared along a 1,400-kilometre route between a mining site and Perth. It could put any person within a 5-metre radius at risk. Local authorities have launched investigations to understand how the capsule went missing. We report on how this is not the first time the mining giant has faced bad publicity in Australia. Also in this edition, Indian conglomerate Adani Group fights back against a report alleging it is involved in "brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud".

I'm retired but was trained to recover such as this..
its not as dangerous as people think unless you touch it or put it in your pocket etc.
If you walked close, past and kept walking you wouldn't get irradiated any more than a weekend sunbathing.

Why wasn’t such a dangerous piece of equipment sealed inside some type of closed container instead of being in in a open one… that’s negligence

The fact that bolts were removed from the storage area this isotope capsule was keep point to something more sinister going on. Why is this aspect of the facts known not delved into deeper. This is no 'fallen of a truck' issue – this is a item that was purposefully taken out of storage.
