i dont understand why everyone is saying z2, just because the reviewer is (clearly) biased doesnt mean you have to with him, S5 is CLEAR winner here, watch the video again ( with volume zero so you dont have to listen his biased commentatory )

I prefer slightly softer video quality with amazing stabilizer and natural colour, so for me the Xperia Z2 wins hands down.

I have to say TechCloud, you're quickly becoming one of my favorite reviewers on YouTube. It's always great to see someone unpicking a lot of the nonsense that's thrown about. Your inclusion of samples from the Canon not only gave perspective but it also exposed the over sharpening which Samsung employs.
Forget about the fact the z2's video was much steadier, the simple fact is its video was closer to the Canon and that makes it superior. Samsung is again doing what Samsung does best cheating with software tweaks. They do it with benchmarks as well. I know they call it optimisation but for me that's just bull.
Keep up the good work man. You and basil at btekt are doing the community proud. It's hard to find objective reviews with nothing more than just talk in them these days so the stuff you do is very important. These devices cost to much to buy and people shouldn't be misled into making choices.

Z2 uses far too much compression. Both photos and videos (especially videos) look better, and less lossy on the S5

Just look at the 70D compared with the 4k on the Z2 (scaled obviously). Tree detail for example is GONE.
On the S5, you can see a lot of tree detail. It isn't just sharpening. The quality is better because it is using a better compression technique.
Arguably, since filming in 4k, the S5 produces far more detail than the 70D does.

The saturation may be higher, but that can be toned down in editing.

One thing you cannot do in editing is combat lossy compression.

That is why the S5 blows the Z2 out of the water.
No stabalisation, but to be honest, that won't really matter
, especially if like I, you film using a tripod to do a lot of work

I'm not sure it is "oversharpening". I think the Samsung sensor may just have less noise, or maybe there are worse noise reduction / compression algorithms from Sony.

(and I say this as someone who generally prefers Sony products, and think that a product that used the less noisy Samsung sensor combined with Sony colour calibration and Sony stabilisation would clearly be superior to both!)

i would like to ask u something else, is there any good way to stream media to your tv (internet connected) i have chromecast..but we have more websites that this does not work ...its mainly a philips tv

People generally will like more saturated color
& also the S5 seem to have a bit more detail due to over sharpening, but as apple has done it with its product, aiding customer & showing up better quality is appreciated 

the Z2 software base IS is kinda good
