I am 71 and live in the Adirondack Region of New York, just a stone's throw from the Canadian border. I mow my large yard with a push mower, I clean my own drive from snow, I plant a large garden, etc. Why do some think that mature women are not capable?!!

My dad is 87 1/2 years young and can still be found out in the yard, garden, on the mower, cutting debris, gifting me fresh flower arrangements, etc. He's passed this love of the outdoors to me, which I'm so thankful for. Keep up with what brings you joy...it's good for the body and good for the soul!

Hi Colette! Anyone, and I mean anyone, who would say you are not a worker is bonkers. You work constantly! And as human nature goes, the one or two negative and hurtful comments which we receive seem to take precedence over the hundreds of positive ones. I have never doubted that you worked in your beautiful cottage and garden area. The results are obvious. I too live alone and I know how much work it is just to keep my cabin going and the small area I call my garden clean and thriving for the birds and other critters I share my space with. Please don't bother with the silly people who demand to see you working. Blow them off! I love that you did show your ladder skills. I need to do some pruning on some trees and now I know I can do it too! I have a good ladder and I also need to clean a few windows that require a ladder. You inspire people all over the world!
