Spin and swing are two entirely different things. If the ball is spinning, then when it lands, it will turn sharply left or right. Malinga's record for delivering yorkers is unmatched by any other player. A yorker is a difficult delivery to execute, as it requires the bowler to pitch the ball close to the batsman's feet, causing it to bounce just before reaching the batsman and potentially hitting the stumps. Malinga had an exceptional ability to deliver the perfect yorker, with a high probability of hitting the stumps due to the ball's low trajectory and the limited deflection angle. In addition to his yorker, Malinga also had other tricks up his sleeve, such as the dipping slower ball and the slower bouncer, both of which were difficult for batsmen to read due to Malinga's slingy action.
