I'm a complete mixed bag when it comes to shipping. In some of my bigger fandoms where there's a lot of characters to work with and there's not a lot to go off of canon wise, I ship almost all of the main characters with someone.
When there isn't as many main characters, or there's a lot of canon romance between the characters, I don't find myself shipping much. I like *most* canon ships, they just don't make me go crazy fangirl mode like other ships do

And then when you finally pick a ship you are even MORE picky about how they're portrayed in fanwork, which is a Hell of your own making. Yes people are allowed to make whatever they want and interpret media however they want, but also if you interpret my blorbos in a way that I disagree with I will explode you silently in my mind.

I’m sort of a picky shipper, but I’m also the type to sometimes ship characters that haven’t met or haven’t really talked as much, because in my headcanon, if they did meet or decide to interact more, they’d have an awesome dynamic. To me, shipping is all about what you imagine; you don’t need to ship the ship that makes sense. You might find an unlikely pair that might actually work very well.
