Martin Scorsese: I need a lead actor for my next film.

Robert De Niro: You talking to me?

I think the reason this line's so famous and everyone loves it is because people do this kinda thing all the time when they're alone, so we can all relate, on a secret level lol

1:05 Fantastic actor pretends to act like a shitty actor. That's De Niro's masterpiece

This is what I do when I'm drunk. This is not a joke, this is actually how I act.

Whenever people quote this line they always say it with his stereotypical gangster accent when that's not really how he sounded. He sounded pretty regular

What’s brilliant about the scene isn’t just how De Niro acts, but how the environment is rendered. It’s the noise of voices coming from different apartments, of machines and vehicles outside humming in the distance. You get the sense of isolation not only because of what Bickle says or how he behaves, but because of what you hear around him, because you’re made conscious of the world outside that he doesn’t feel part of. There are people in his building who are going on living their lives while he’s cracking up, and you can HEAR this. It’s an extremely REAL scene in an extremely REAL film, and it’s our loss that American - and, particularly, Hollywood - film no longer seems interested in that realism.

'well i'm the only one here' that line is so chilling because he literally is the 'only one' there in the is the best performance in a movie of all time

The sleeve gun is what makes this memorable to me

this film is disturbing to me that I'm older, just so twisted but it's even crazier that most of us feel like this but don't ever actually do anything about it, this is the best character study I have ever enjoyed analyzing in a film

One of the most iconic lines in cinematic history.

It occurred to me a few moments ago that I had heard this line quoted a million times but had never actually seen it. This is way different than what I was expecting.

I never get tired of this scene.. one of my favorite actors of all time, and I don´t know if it´s just me or he was extremely sexy back in the day?

One of his greatest acting, he`d deserved an oscar for this part. What am i saying. He deserved for almost every movie an oscar, like in Cape Fear,  Analyze That,  The Score, Midnight Run, Ronin, Heat, Casino, Goodfellas,  Awakenings  and then some.

Wow. He was able to picture PERFECTLY his fall into madness just saying a few words in front of a mirror.

And he was truly hot at that age.
