I am successfully growing a DWC hydro fig cutting as of 6-24-17 . Roots are fat, healthy, a lot of them and growing fast. I started the cutting in a cup of water until root spots formed then transferred it into a DWC hydro system, a node popped open and reviled its growing leaves to me today. I am using General Hydroponics Flora nutrient system. probably don"t care but seedlings do awesome in it as well.

Shame the hydro fig experiment didnt work out. If you have another go i would recommend placing the netpot filled with hydroton in a suitably sized round plantpot and manually dunking it into a bucket of nutrient twice a day. The netpot will need to sit on the inside ledge of the plantpot so its supported/suspended. The plantpot serves to reduce evaporation, maintain humidity and block the light. I would use half strength nutrient without the silica blast and a ph around 6.

i think you forgot to mix the nutrens solution before adding it to you system. therfor the fig found no food. check the video. good luck

Can you share the dimensions and cost of the net pot used for hydroponics ? Is its plastic as durable and sun resistant as the nursery pots ? (does not degrade in sunlight)
