Показать описание
Learn how to change the combination (Exterior Combination Change) on a Simplex 5000 mechanical pushbutton lock.
1. In this video we’ll change the combination on a Kaba Simplex 5000 lock with the exterior combination change feature. Before you start this procedure make sure the door is open.
2. When selecting a combination, one button or all five buttons can be used for a combination. Each button can only be used one time. It is possible to depress two or more buttons simultaneously as a step in the combination. Kaba recommends at least 3 digits in the combination.
3. Rotate the outside handle once to the stop position and release to reset the lock. The latch should not retract.
4. Enter the existing combination followed by the ENTER button and release. Do not turn the handle.
5. In order to change the combination in the lock, a determination must be made as to whether or not it will be and interior or exterior combination change, and follow appropriate procedures.
6. In most cases, an exterior combination change is what the unit will have. Insert the release tool through the hole in the number pad and gently lift up the loop end of the tool to depress the combination change button until you hear a click.
7. Remove the tool and do not press any buttons.
8. Rotate the handle once and only once to clear the old combination. The latch will retract. Then, release the handle.
9. Enter a new combination followed by the ENTER button, rotate the handle, and release.
10. The combination has now been changed. Always test the new combination with the door open. Once you have confirmed the new combination, the process is complete.
