He tried to go to opposite-colored bishops ending. Top tier creativity.

I'm just pressing the like button without any comments as I'm not able to see anything on my mobile. Anyway wish you a very happy New Year.

Bxf8* was dubious dubiousness...he claims he doesn't drink, lol. Btw, nice game with that killer bird. Nd2/Nf3 at the end was excellent. Happy New Year, Suren!

I hope you went over this game using a computer as an aide. I realize this is blitz but seeing blunders by both sides makes me feel better about my games! First, the move taken back (Qd6) was actually better than the move played! (Nd7). Best is Be6. According to my computer, Nd7 increases your lead from about .6 to 2.1 pawns, a pawn and 1/2. Your response Rxf8 drops your lead by a full pawn to 1.1 (the computer likes the immediate Bg4). The illegal move is a blunder! It increases your lead from 1.1 pawns to 3.2 pawns over the recommended Nxf8. I.e. you are now a full minor piece ahead! After your correct Bg4, the response Qd6 is a major blunder that increases your lead to 8 pawns (or a rook and a minor piece)! Your response Bxd7 blunders most of the advantage back! Your lead decreases to only 1.7 pawns. Correct was 23.Nc4 and the computer says you are going to get a tactical shot in all lines. The proper line appears to be 23.Nc4 Qe7 24.Qh3 (piling up on the d7 knight) Rd8 25.Rf1 a6 (back has no way to improve his position). Now a nice tactical shot is there starting with 26.Be6+ driving the king away from the defense of the f8 bishop. After Kh8, the d7 knight can be taken for free! 27.Bxd7. If black recaptures, white can recapture with the queen which is immune because recapturing allows Rxf8# -- this is why driving the king away from the defense of the f8 bishop was necessary.
