LATEST GUIDELINES: PR CARD EXPIRING OUTSIDE CANADA

In today’s update, we will discuss about the latest guidelines regarding PR card expiring outside Canada

Please keep in mind that PR cards cannot be re-issued outside Canada, but Permanent Resident Travel Documents (PRTDs) can be reissued.

A permanent resident (PR) of Canada might depart from Canada for some time. But if that person desires to come back to Canada, they need to show their PR card, which verifies their PR status.

Please keep in mind that most PR cards last for five years, but some last for less than five years. If a PR card expires, that does not signify a person has wasted his PR status. On the other hand, it denotes that they cannot utilize their card to come back to Canada. The only exclusion is if they are traveling by private car.

I applied for PR in Canada in march 2019. Got my eCoPR in June 2021.
Still waiting for PR card. and when i called IRCC the told me that we cannot tell you anything on that because now we have Priority for the Afghans.
