Ryan Griffin, MD, is a hematologist and oncologist at Ochsner Health and has a personal connection with cancer care. As someone who had cancer and is a cancer survivor, he has gone through everything his patients are experiencing. Dr. Griffin is able to tell his patients, “I’ve been there and I’ve been through this, and I want you to know that I am on your side, and I will be fighting and working day in and day out to make sure that you get the best care possible.”
Dr. Griffin also discusses Ochsner’s multidisciplinary approach and the team effort that goes into cancer care. He says, “Cancer is a very complicated, complex disease to treat, and not only in the delivery of the care but even in the planning of that care, it is a very multidisciplinary approach.”
“This is a huge team. There are dozens of people here that are working, both on the frontline and behind the scenes, to make sure we provide the best care for patients.”
