Hi, we are Stephen, Jess and little Hunter, a traveling family who spent 2020 self-converting a van before moving in full-time to drive around our home country of Australia. We have now completed our lap, said our goodbyes, and resumed full-time travel before we wait for our second baby to arrive.

Hunter is developing her own unique sense of humor. She's an amazing, resilient (like her parents) kid!

We loved Denmark! If you ever go back - go to Billund. It's all things Lego and it's super easy to get around. We stayed at the Legoland Holiday Village and there were cute cabins, playgrounds and BABY GOATS. It was magical. Plus Legoland and the Lego House, which is epic.

This makes me so happy ! I'm literally crying happy tears at the moment.
I've been following you guys for years, And now I finally got the opportunity to see you visiting my home country. I'm so happy that you enjoyed Copenhagen during Christmas - the best time of the year. Glad Hunter enjoyed Æbleskiver! And yes, Jess, you are eating Smørrebrød in the correct way.
If you want any advice for you next trip, you should definitely come to Skagen, which is the northernmost town in Denmark at the tip of Jylland (Jutland). I also think you would enjoy Aalborg (4th largest city), Viborg (one of the oldest towns in Denmark with a beautiful Cathedral), Silkeborg (large town with beautiful nature), Aarhus (2nd largest city). And this is only to mention a few of the highlights. The nature is beautiful by the west coast
If you want any more advice just let me know!
Love from a huge fan of yours

Jess, you nailed the pronunciation of æbleskiver! But your pronunciation of tivoli made me giggle - it's "TEE-vuh-lee" but fast. Smørrebrød is a stable for lunch time in Denmark. Not always fancy, for every day we keep it simple, and for special occasions we make them more fancy. A summer roadtrip is a great idea! The islands of Fyn, Thurø, Langeland, and Ærø and all the tiny islands in between are all connected by ferries and absolutely one of a kind to experience, with lots of old old houses and long, deserted beaches.

I usually get really frustrated when I see people travelling to Denmark and only going to Copenhagen. I am Danish and from Jutland and I rarely feel like Copenhagen is a decent representation of Denmark. It’s part of Denmark and therefore a part of what you can experience in Denmark, but I feel like there is so much more to the culture (and its very different) from what you see in Copenhagen. I'm excited that you are thinking of doing a road trip in Denmark and I just want to give you some recommendations.

Arhus is the biggest city in Jutland and the second biggest city in Denmark. in general, it’s not that different from Copenhagen, but there are a few things I would recommend. Den gamle by is a museum of how Denmark looked like through the years. You physically walk don’t different streets and experience the different decades. Another thing that people rave about is Aros, which is a big art museum, but personally I don’t care for it.

Odense is the city of H. C. Andersen. It has a very cozy center, but not much more. Fyn is in general very chill.

The whole west coast from Skagen to the German border is beautiful and I would advise everybody to go there, just be careful if you want to go in the water. There are lots of bunkers as well and museums about WW2. I Especially love the northern part of Løkken and Skagen. Skagen has wild seals and Løkken is an awesome place to surf.

There are also lots of different zoos and amusement parks. I would recommend Randers Regnskov, Skandinavisk dyrepark, Djurssommerland and Fårup sommerland. Of course there is also Legoland, which I am not the biggest fan of, but it’s probably different for a foreigner.

In my opinion it just sucks that when people think of Denmark, they think of Copenhagen (if they even know where it is) and I don’t think I’m alone in that feeling about my home country.

That being said, I am myself going to take a big road trip around Denmark this summer, since my boyfriend is coming to the country from the US for the first time, and he needs the biggest personal guided tour I can give him.

Copenhagen is absolutely magical at Christmastime. It's so spirited and whimsical. Germany also has some fantastic holiday markets as well. It's absolutely on my bucket list... one of these years I will visit! 🥰❤

I'm so glad I saw this video. It is so beautiful and ♡ warming. I'll be in Copenhagen in November and inspired by this video I looked up when the Tivoli Christmas markets open and luckily for me it is two day before I leave! I'll be able to experience this for myself!
