Kudos to Gukesh For reaching this milestone in Fide world cup at the age of only 17. He is definitely solid Player but then there is Magnus. He still requires more time and practice though. Wishing him luck for the Future endeavours.

Magnus is different for a reason. You see, GMs have been studying chess from their childhoods, but only a few have come close to his strength at endgame. There are things that cannot be simply learned, such as the "feel for the game", which Magnus has.

Chess is also a bit different from science. We are at an age where there is not much development to be made in opening theory (that's why players are reusing old things and look for improvements, or just get news from the top players). There is much less to improve in endgame theory if there is any. Endgames are a combination of theory, technique, and feel for the game.

Maybe a more talented player will be born in a hundred years, but as of now Magnus is the GOAT.
