~Welcome to Currency World~

If you guys want a chance at winning a Graded Mint State 70 Walking Liberty (Graded MS 70 Walking Liberty) make sure to watch the entire video and follow the instructions!

Currency World is the premier YouTube Channel for coins, paper money, banknotes, medals, gold and silver bullion and other types of U.S. coins and foreign coins. Please like and subscribe.

Today we take a look at some coin grading basics, and answer some key questions including: why you should get your coins graded; where to get your coins graded; and which grading company is right for you (PCGS or NGC). Coin grading services use what is known as an adapted Sheldon coin grading scale which is a coin grading scale that goes from 1 - 70. In this video we look at coin grading examples and coin grading companies such as PCGS and NGC. This video will show you how you can get your coins graded. Don’t forget to check your pocket change now and keep coin roll hunting for those rare coins. You guys must remember that you can find rare and valuable coins without going to a coin dealer or coin shop! You do not need to spend a lot of money to find valuable coins. After watching this video you know the basics of coin grading, so it will be time to get out there and find some valuable coins. If you need help doing that you should make sure to check out some of my other videos where I break down the most valuable pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and silver dollars in circulation. Don’t forget to let me know what cool coins you guys have been finding in the comment section down below.

The coin grading scale breaks down as follows:

Uncirculated – Grade (Mint State) MS 70-60
About Uncirculated – Grade AU 58-50
Extremely Fine – Grade EF or XF 45-35
Very Fine – Grade VF 35, 30, 25, or 20
Fine – Grade F 15 or 12
Very Good – Grade VG 10 or 8
Good – Grade G 6 or 4
About Good – Grade AG 3
Fair – Grade FR 2
Poor – Grade PO 1

I just got my first three graded coins back. NGC graded them and the all were within a grade or two of what I was hoping for. Yay!

Thank you for the information. I sent my first coin in for grading to PCGS. I am new to collecting graded coins in slabs and made a few mistakes. I am glad I ran across your channel

Very good information. I have gotten a few coins graded over the years with both NGC and PCGS. I know some old coin collectors that grade their own coins, but this is very difficult to do and a lot of them never sell. If you ever want to sell your coins I agree that grading the coins is a must.

Recently started doing coin collecting again and I find your videos really helpful like this one. My favorite is the Top 10 videos I use them as a reference when I look through piles of coins.

I absolutely did not know anything about coin collections until my friend gave me a 1923 one-dollar coin and said that they are sometimes worth a lot of money. That's how I came across your channel. Thank you for the information it was super helpful.

Great video and information. I have been getting coins graded for many years. I have used both PCGS and NGC, and have had positive experiences with both. For higher value coins it does tend to get a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion.
