The opening song from Disney's 1992 hit, Aladdin.

Written by Alan Menken & Howard Ashman
Performed by Bruce Adler

Oh, I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where it's flat and immense and the heat is intense. (Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face)
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home
When the wind's from the east
And the sun's from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down
Stop on by
Hop a carpet and fly
To another Arabian night
Arabian Nights like Arabian days
More often than not
Are hotter than hot
In a lot of good ways

Arabian Nights 'neath Arabian moons
A fool off his guard
Could fall and fall hard
Out there on the dunes

Of course, I do not own the rights to the music or lyrics.

you know, I can't think of aladdin, sinbad, ali baba, or shantae or anything relating to the middle east without this song coming into my head

I cannot describe the feelings I felt when I saw this in theater. When that music started, and that flicker of light moved through the title synced to the music. It was so beautiful and felt amazing.
That scene when you see the palace for the first time, when you see it on the big screen it looks so massive and impressive.

This along with Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast are all absolutely stellar.

I thought Arabian Nights are actually pretty cold and not hot...

I miss the old Disney films. Such originality. Such nostalgic memories. This was my favorite song in the history of Disney. Along with Friend Like Me.

When I was in prison for 2 years I forgot all current, mainstream songs and only remembered Disney songs from my childhood, especially Aladdin. So I sang them in my head to fall asleep when I was locked up.... dang.. thank you Disney

I watched Aladdin 2019 today and it was amazing. They did justice to all songs and of course to the story. It's the best Disney remake.

I miss those days badly. Plzz take me there.😫. I don't want this adulthood anymore... Those times were full of fun. Watching cartoons and eating popcorns not much study or any other pressure...

Chills. Literal chills. It just absorbs you. Love it, love it, for years I've loved it! The live action version can't hold a candle to this one.

Aladdin has the best Disney soundtrack!! You can’t even argue

This is excellent overall, a fabulous classic Disney starter to an exciting and engaging film.

My personal opinion is that Mr Bruce Alder actually took on his role seriously. He demonstrated a range of vocal singing techniques and empathize into his character (the narrator). He included some tense singing at points to make the song more interesting. Overall excellent singing was evident.

I know some may have other views, please reply to my message in a calm and professional manner if you have such!

Thank you all.

After seeing the new aladdin i needed this. No emotion in the new one, no mystique, no power.
The only one "alive" was the princess. Such a shame since i love will smith's movies, but this was not for him.

Semi sad fact about this movie, around the time Aladdin was being worked on, Steven Spielberg was working on Schindler's list. The atmosphere on the set of Schindler's list was so depressing that Spielberg had to call Robin Williams several times a week to tell jokes to cheer up the cast and crew of Schindler's list. Some of those jokes ended up making their way into Aladdin.
