JBL insulted Rey Mysterio in September 2007. Rey challenged him to a fight, JBL said he knows someone else and Finlay came out. Hit Rey with a cheap shot and then just left. Next week, JBL was in the ring with Rey again, JBL pushed him. Rey tripped him, hit him with a 619, jumped on him but got hit by Finlay with the shillelagh and just left. Finlay met Rey at No Mercy. At the end, Rey jumped on Finlay and he fell outside right on his head and he was put on a stretcher. Finlay got up and attacked Rey and continued to assault him. They met again on Smackdown for a chance at Batista’s world title. At the end, both got disqualified. Finlay wanted to hit him, the gong hit, Taker appeared with both on the floor and looked at Batista’s title. They met again at Cyber Sunday in a stretcher match. Finlay threw Rey onto the stretcher and then put him on it. Tried to push Rey but he fell off. Rey quickly tried to push Finlay but he fell off too. Rey hit a dropkick, tried to jump on Finlay, but he countered and pushed Rey onto the stretcher. Rey hit him with a six one nine, jumped on him, tried to push the stretcher but it got caught in a cable. Then Rey countered Finlay and pushed him over the line to win the match.
