just a thought 😅
using FASTag RFID for rapid identification in case of an accident is a brilliant idea. If vehicles are equipped with RFID tags linked to a database with emergency contact information, first responders could quickly access crucial details about the vehicle owner or passengers. This could significantly speed up emergency response times and improve overall safety. It’s a powerful way to integrate technology into emergency management and enhance the effectiveness of rescue operations.

Have a look at Salik, UAE had implemented quick toll scans, that scanned the cars 100kmph, nearly 15 years ago

Toh Fastag is great but if it is adapted for other systems like parking, there should be an option for rejecting payments also so that people dont charge you with out knowing how much your paying or being scammed

In USA, You can just drive through without stopping. So definitely it can be improved a lot

Fast tag took away your rights of questioning at toll 😂

It eliminated cash payments, which was so annoying. Lack of change, and sometime they give u torn notes, which u get to see only after u leave the toll plaza cuz of queue.

Important note to make here is... Esteemed sir developed fasttag in 2010... But, it came into wide use from 2016... Took 6 years to implement such a simple concept in India...

Its one of the slowest systems.
In other countries like Vietnam, you don’t even stop your car to pay the toll, you just slow down.

Fasttag gives every card an ID...meanwhile RC Card and Number plate crying in the corner. Like his friend, he clocks 70 hrs a week, so he goes back home and office at unnatural times, when obviously there are no queues.

In foreign countries RFID’s for tolls are scanned at speeds more than 120 KMPH. No person required just toll gates with state of the art scanners.
Jai Hind.

Is not Fastag a ripoff of the Easytag system used in the US of A. Only difference is there is a trust quotient that allows you to pass a tollgate without the boom barriers In the US, there are least 6 rfid readers in one roll lane, in indian tolls we have one boom barrier and one rfid reader. Why not rip the system completely, that way the imitator now has made the original copy a clear inconvenience for Indians.

Ah yes, parking. Last month in Bangalore I paid parking at two malls using my FasTag. That was so much more efficient than paying via cash or UPI at the counter.

This is the only interview where Nikhil is taking notes from the interviewee. He knows the importance of that person.

@nikhil, countries like Mozambique used ANPR back in 2014 where cars don't have to stop. Middle using from almost 2 decades. We introduced an obsolete technology, they encashed it totally and now talks about changing to new technology. Again cost of replacement. It was not an honest solution.

In Australia the tag is read when the vehicles are travelling at 100kmph. FastTag needs to improve.
